Our staff has lunch together every day around a great, round library table, with guests included at least a few times a week. Sometimes, I actually cook. In the country, weekends encompass quiet dinners with friends and more elaborate events when we open our home to help raise awareness or funds for causes that are important to us, such as land preservation and libraries. Amid a busy business, a husband, friends, a social life – and the added dollop of "authorship" to the mix, life is, to put it mildly, a little hectic.
